Miranda Forrester, a painter living and working in London, earned a BA in Fine Art Painting from the University of Brighton. Major solo exhibitions include Interiorities at Chicago’s Mariane Ibrahim Gallery, Arrival at Tiwani Contemporary in London, and Abode at Guts Gallery in London. Selected group exhibitions include the 2024 Venice Biennale(Unit London), In Praise of Black Errantry; Conversations at Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool; LEDA and the SWAN: a myth of creation and deconstruction at Victoria Miro Gallery II in London; and The Company She Keeps at Tiwani Contemporary in Lagos, among others.

Her work explores the freedom and joy of an existence beyond established boundaries. Her paintings recall the historical exclusion of queer Black women from Western art history, subverting it through their reflections on the celebration of womanhood, the pleasure of being a desiring subject, and the transformative potential found within the recontextualization of space.
