FOUNDRY BOOKS
파운드리 서울은 2023년 7월 21일 부터 9월 16일까지 《FOUNDRY BOOKS》를 개최한다. 《FOUNDRY BOOKS》는 개관 2주년을 맞이하여 선보이는 출판물 아카이브 전시로 지금까지 파운드리 서울이 출간한 13권의 전시 도록과 더불어 파운드리 서울이 소개한 두 아티스트, 헤닝 스트라스부르거(Henning Strassburger)와 토비아스 카스파(Tobias Kaspar)가 기획, 편집 및 발행에 참여한 도록과 매거진까지 총 24권의 출판물을 소개한다.
파운드리 서울은 본 전시를 통해 각 전시를 충실히 기록하는 도록을 아카이브 할 뿐만 아니라, 동시대 작가, 그래픽 디자이너, 비평가, 큐레이터, 에디터의 작업을 재조명하며, 공동 창작물로서의 출판물을 다각도로 살펴볼 수 있는 자리를 마련하고자 한다.
본 전시에서는 그래픽 디자이너 강문식이 디자인하고 큐레이터 박가희, 프란츠 헴펠(Franz Hempel)이 필진으로 참여한 마틴 그로스(Martin Gross)의 《Dream File》전시 도록, 그래픽 디자이너 윤현학이 디자인하고 큐레이터 이성휘가 필진으로 참여하여 2021년부터 2023년 최근 작까지 최강혁, 손상락 작가의 작업을 기록한 도록 『SURFACE』 가 처음으로 소개된다.
FOUNDRY SEOUL is pleased to present a catalogue show FOUNDRY BOOKS from July 21 to September 16, 2023. FOUNDRY BOOKS is an archival exhibition of publications, commemorating the 2nd anniversary of FOUNDRY SEOUL. It introduces a total of 24 publications, including 13 exhibition catalogues published by FOUNDRY SEOUL, as well as catalogues and magazines curated, edited, and published by Henning Strassburger and Tobias Kaspar.
Through this exhibition, FOUNDRY SEOUL not only archives catalogues faithfully documenting each exhibition but also shed light on the work of contemporary artists, graphic designers, critics, curators, and editors, providing opportunity to explore publications as collaborative creations from various perspectives.
In this exhibition, the catalogue of Martin Gross’ Dream File, designed by Moonsick Gang, with contributions from curators Gahee Park and Franz Hempel, is showcased. Additionally, the catalogue SURFACE, designed by Ted Yoon and featuring contributions from curator Sunghui Lee is released. The catalogue documents the works of Kanghyuk Choi and Sanglak Shon from 2021 to the present.
