최근 개인전 및 2인전으로는 2024년 로스앤젤레스 Soft Opening의 《Babe》, 2023년 밀라노 Conceptual Fine Arts에서 Maren Karlson와 함께 선보인 《Collapse》, 2022년 런던 Soft Opening의 《in mass and feeling》, 하트퍼드 Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art의 《Matrix 188》, 2021년 로스앤젤레스 M+B의 《f o r e p l a y II》, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery의 《Nevine Mahmoud》 등이 있다. 마무드는 University of Southern California, Los Angeles에서 석사 학위를, 런던 골드스미스 대학교(Goldsmiths, University of London)에서 학사 학위를 받았다.

Nevine Mahmoud (b. 1988) is a Los Angeles-based artist whose work employs contradictions of sense, material, and preconception to playfully subvert perception. Working in labor-intensive materials such as marble, metal, and glass, Mahmoud pairs vulnerability and pliability with durability in her sculptures, which take sensual forms somewhere between abstraction and figuration. The colorful entendres embedded in her work dismantle traditions of the objectification of the female body and, by extension, suggest a new narrative of her own.

Recent solo and two-person exhibitions include Babe, Soft Opening at Paul Soto, Los Angeles (2024); Collapse (with Maren Karlson), Soft Opening at Conceptual Fine Arts, Milan (2023); in mass and feeling, Soft Opening, London (2022); Matrix 188, Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, Hartford (2022); f o r e p l a y II, M+B, Los Angeles (2021); Nevine Mahmoud, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Barnsdall Art Park Foundation, Los Angeles (2021); among others. Nevine Mahmoud has participated in numerous group exhibitions internationally, including at Hangar Y, Meudon (2024); Museo Archeologico San Lorenzo, Cremona (2024); MOCA Jacksonville, Jacksonville (2020); Simon Lee Gallery, Hong Kong (2019); Centre Régional D’art Contemporain Occitanie, Sète (2018); Yuz Museum, Shanghai (2018); Portland Institute of Contemporary Art, Portland (2016). Her work is in the permanent collections of Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Los Angeles; The Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, Portland; and is part of the Mac3 Collection across the Hammer Museum, MOCA and Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles. She holds an MFA from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles and a BA from Goldsmiths University, London.
