b.1984
Based in Seoul, KR, Los Angeles, US

세 오의 최근 개인전으로는 2025년 방콕 Tang Contemporary Art Bangkok의 《Polyculture》, 2024년 로스앤젤레스 Stroll Garden의 《Elegies: Little Deaths》, 2023년 로스앤젤레스 One Trick Pony의 《Country Boy, I Love You》, 뉴욕 Half Gallery의 《Han》 등이 있으며, 2024년 뉴욕 Phillips Auction House, 광주 아시아문화전당, 2023년 뉴욕 Kasmin Gallery, 2022년 로스앤젤레스 카운티 미술관(LACMA) 등 다수의 그룹전에 참여했다.

In their practice, Se Oh (b. 1984) draws upon their personal history, having been adopted from South Korea and raised in the American Deep South, through explorations of resilience and nurturance realized in ceramics, painting, and soft sculpture. Using traditional media such as porcelain, Hanji, and silk, materials characterized by their simultaneous suspensions of fragility and durability, Oh’s work evokes deeper reflection on the ontological consequences of existence in liminal spaces. Se Oh is currently based in Seoul and Los Angeles.

Recent solo exhibitions include Polyculture, Tang Contemporary Art Bangkok, Bangkok (2025); Elegies: Little Deaths, Stroll Garden, Los Angeles (2024); Country Boy, I Love You, One Trick Pony, Los Angeles (2023); Han, Half Gallery, New York (2023). Se Oh’s work has been included in group exhibitions at Phillips Auction House, New York (2024); National Asia Culture Center (ACC), Gwangju (2024); Kasmin Gallery, New York (2023); Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles (2022); among others.
