페르난다 갈바오는 1994년 브라질 상파울루에서 태어나 아르만도 알바레스 펜치아두 대학에서 시각예술을 전공 후 파리를 기반으로 활동하고 있습니다. 작가는 생물학에 대한 관심을 바탕으로 인체와 자연물을 이루는 세포와 조직을 관찰하고, 공상과학적 상상력을 통해 디스토피아적인 미래 생태계 풍경을 선보입니다. 이렇게 펼쳐진 새로운 시공은 인간이 등장하지 않는 디스토피아적 세계이지만, 상상 속 신비로운 생물들의 에너지로 가득한 역동적인 세계로 작가는 이를 통해 고요와 혼돈, 탄생과 종말, 뜨거운 것과 차가운 것, 우아함과 야생성, 현실과 초현실이 공존하는 매혹적인 미래를 선보입니다.

Born in 1994, Paris-based emerging artist, Fernanda Galvão studied Visual Arts at Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation(FAAP). With a special interest in cytology and histology, the artist observes microscopic units of the human body and nature, and establishes the science fictional landscape of a dystopian future ecosystem. This new spacetime is a dystopian world devoid of humans, but it is also a dynamic world filled with the energy of mysterious creatures in the artist’s imagination. Through this, the artist presents a fascinating future where tranquility and chaos, birth and death, hot and cold, elegance and wildness, and the real and the surreal coexist.
