런던을 기반으로 활동하는 작가 율리아 아이오실존(b. 1992)은 물질과 기호가 끊임없이 교차하고 재구성되는 변형의 서사를 전개한다. 고대 신화와 도상학, 유년 시절의 만화 등 다양한 시각적 참조를 엮어 낸 작가의 몽환적인 화면은 동시대 사회와 실존적 조건을 관찰하고 질문한다. 반투명 캔버스 회화와 세라믹 모자이크, 그리고 최근 새롭게 선보인 패브릭 조각을 아우르는 아이오실존의 작업은 평면과 공간의 경계를 넘나들며 하나의 몰입적인 세계를 구축한다.
London-based artist Yulia Iosilzon (b. 1992) develops a narrative of “metamorphosis” in which materials and symbols continuously intersect and are reconfigured. Drawing on a wide range of visual references—from ancient mythology and iconography to childhood cartoons—she creates dreamlike compositions that observe and question both contemporary society and existential conditions. Spanning paintings on translucent canvas, ceramic mosaics, and more recently, fabric sculptures, her practice moves fluidly between two- and three-dimensional spaces, constructing an immersive world of its own.
