b.1992
Based in London, UK

Born in Moscow, Russia, in 1992, Yulia Iosilzon spent her formative years in Tel Aviv, and currently lives and works in London. She holds an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, and a BA in Fine Art from Slade School of Fine Art. With interesting motifs and symbols from the archetypal narratives from various traditions, The artist creates paintings that may strike viewers as nostalgic or even romantic scenes from fairy tales or cartoons. Calling on a set of symbols conveying rich cultural and historical contexts, the artist encapsulates her serious observations of and questions about the human mind, soul, the fundamental conditions of human existence, and social phenomena.
